A Day In The Life of a PT

Posted on March 10, 2014 by Jenny Cromack

When the alarm went off this morning I thought I had slept in! Through one eye I looked at my phone and realised it was only 5:10am and the start of another week! Yippee!

My day started off with some scrambled eggs and veg whilst I got ready for the day ahead. This weekend my husband had visited his sister who has her own chickens, you cannot beat eggs over the ones from the super market shelf. The yolks are so yellow! Mmm, mmm, mmm! One of my clients often has asparagus with her ‘dippy eggs’ in place of soldiers (toast) which I think is a fab idea!

I had a couple of clients this morning, did a training session which involved a 30 minute weights session and also practising for covering Kate’s spin class tomorrow at our Saxton studio. To get me in the mood for spin I had gone to Kate’s spin class on Saturday, boy is that girl in her element when she is teaching! She looks like she is loving every minute of it, I am not sure I will be saying that tomorrow when I’m sat sweating on the bike!

The most exciting part about today was hearing that Chris had made it to the semi-finals of the Fit Pro Fitness Professional of 2014 Awards! I nominated Chris for this award in the New Year. Chris has worked with motive8 from day one when we opened in July 2011 and I have seen him grow and flourish as a Personal Trainer, progressing to be our Master Trainer and I truly believe he is one , if not ‘the’, best personal trainer in Leeds. I saw this competition and just thought I had to nominate him so he could be recognised for all of his hard work. Voting opened today so if you want to vote for him then click here! I had a home PT client this afternoon, followed by a corporate group personal training session. The ladies all worked their socks off. I really love it when you can tell that people are giving you their all in their sessions, and as much as the ladies said they ‘endured’ the session rather than ‘enjoyed’ the session I know they went home with a smile on their face!

I spent the rest of the evening catching up on some admin work and had a lovely tea of a 3 bean vegi chilli with some steamed veg which was absolutely lovely.

Now for my guilty pleasure…..a bit of EastEnders (now, don’t think any less of me!)
