So we know organisation is key and having an organised gym bag is also very important for a productive workout!

So here are our top essentials for your gym bag!

Protect Your Feet

Your feet are so important so it’s a given the trainers you wear are important. Anyone who knows me will know I love collection of trainers, but I don’t mean trainers are important to look good, it is important  to wear the right trainers that will protect and support your feet, ankle and subsequently your knees and other joints. Trainers that are worn down on the sole or rips and tears appearing in the trainer can lead to not only a decrease in performance but injury.
Have ‘Support’

This is one for the ladies and we don’t mean your friend’s motivating you to go an have a workout (although that is good!), we are talking sports bras! Making sure that you have a good sports bra can really make the difference and make you feel more comfortable and confident. Good brands for high impact activity are Shock Absorber, Under Armour, Nike and Adidas and for low impact activities such as Yoga / Pilates are Fabletics and Sweaty Betty.

Socks, Socks, Socks

You should always have a good pair of socks in your bag as well as a pair for after as no one likes sweaty feet!! A good pair of socks can not only be comfortable and protective they also reduce your feet from sweating too much!

Gym Clothes

Train in kit that you are comfortable in. It doesn’t have to be the latest flash new gym trend at the end of the day you are in the gym to train hard. Make sure it is made of ‘breathable’ fabric so you stay cool whilst you’re working out.

Hand Grips

A good pair of lifting gloves or liquid chalk can protect your hands and help you keep your grip this will allow you to lift heavier or for more reps which is always a winner!!

Training Programme

Having a copy of your training programme will ensure that you are in control of your training and can log your progress in terms of weight and reps.

It’s always good to have a spare training kit in the back of your car or at work so you can always train!

We hope this helps you plan your gym workouts!
