The inaugural Columbia Thread Needle World ITU Triathlon is coming to Leeds this weekend the 11th ad 12th of June and is the pinnacle of triathlon competitions in the UK. It is a great opportunity for the amateurs and professionals to ride some of the route of the 2014 Tour de France Grand Depart in Leeds and Yorkshire.
The motive8 team are teaming up with Freedom Clinics to offer help, support and advice to spectators and those who have taken part so pop and join them between 11-4 for free massages, nutrition and training advice whilst soaking up the atmosphere in the city centre.
The competition will start with an open water swim in the beautiful location of Roundhay Park the participants complete bike laps in and around Leeds and finish off with a testing run finishing in the city centre.
Once the amateurs have finished their race, some of the worlds bests will take their tun to complete the Olympic distance with a more technical bike route. Both amateur and professional races are promised to show some great displays of sporting achievement that will be fantastic to spectate. So if you’re free get yourself along and cheer them on.. you may even see a familiar face.
