I am firm believer that without healthy alternatives to snacks, the average gym goer will have a tough time sticking to a clean eating diet. As I also fall into this category, I decided to try some protein based snack alternatives for some of my go to healthy snacks and foods.
1. Protein pancakes
In the aftermath of pancake day I found myself snatching up the discounted pancake mixes at supermarkets because its cheap and lets be honest, pretty fricking tasty! However, I decided that this was counter-intuitive to my goal of eventually unveiling something that resembles a lean stomach. So, I set about to find my alternative, and myprotein had the answer. Their protein pancake mix is cheap and packs a protein punch so I used their mix, along with some zero sugar syrup and grilled turkey bacon to make a high fat, low sugar snack into pretty much all protein, win!

2. Protein balls
Protein balls, protein flapjacks and protein muffins are great mini snacks to eat on the go, whether its your daily commute or on the way home from a 2 hour arm workout. What’s even better, is that if you have made them yourself, you know EXACTLY what has gone in to them.
Our blogs are full of ideas and recipes for these. If you don’t want to spend time searching our blogs, never fear, Joe is here!

Give these snacks a try and hopefully they’ll help you stick to your nutrition goals!
Happy lifting,
