Personal Training Success Story – Stefanie Oliver

Having only been part of Motive8 North for a short space of time I am yet to have the impressive back catalogue of clients that the other trainers have. I do however have some amazing clients who are on their way to achieving great things when it comes to their goals. One of these clients is called Stefanie, she is a home client and has really made huge progress in terms of both her goals and attitudes towards healthy eating and exercise.
In the Beginning…
Stefanie is a home personal training client and I remember the first day we had our consultation, she was unsure about training with a male trainer and a little anxious about the whole personal training experience having not done a lot of exercise before. I sat down with her and explained all the support we could offer and how we would gently progress her into her sessions. She explained her goals to me; wanting to achieve a balanced and healthier diet, get back into her running, and toning up her stomach, legs, and arms.
With Stefanie only having one session a week, with minimal equipment, and leading a very busy lifestyle with works and two children we had to make things as simple and effective as we could.
Huge changes…
Stefanie has gone from being a little unsure and anxious about the training and now brings a great deal of enthusiasm and energy to the sessions (despite some being last thing at night). I turn up kit in hand and running trainers laced up for some intervals. Whatever the weather she is keen to get out there and hit the tarmac, most people would moan and groan their way through often rainy, hilly runs, but not Stefanie she gets the job done and still manages to inform me of the latest gossip or news!
This enthusiasm translated into her effort with her nutrition. Bread used to be a big downfall and after a little tweaking this is no longer an issue. She is eating regular balanced meals and even fitting this in around a busy lifestyle. Sandwiches and sugary cereals are a thing of the past and she is reaching out for your much healthier options taking note of all the recipes we provide on a weekly basis. In one of our sessions I remember her reluctantly telling me she had some bread at a BBQ. To my surprise she followed with how it didn’t satisfy her as she thought it would and is now not a slave to bread. This along with her effort in the training has led to some really impressive body changes despite only having one session a week.
Stefanie did not have a huge amount of weight to lose, but she has lost over 5lbs you may think this isn’t a lot but the biggest change comes in her body composition. She has dropped her body fat from 21%-18%, and her total inches loss is 16 inches, which is absolutely amazing! The areas she was most concerned with, her stomach and legs, have lost 5 inches and 3 inches respectively. She has noticeable muscle tone in her arms, stomach and thighs. She is now enjoying the comments coming from her husband, friends, and family about her new found body shape.
Where we are now…
We have now upped Stefanie’s sessions to two a week, as requested by her, again showing her enjoyment, effort and enthusiasm for the training. I anticipate further, impressive improvements as we step up her training. We are working on dropping a little more weight and shedding a little more body fat and I have no doubts in my mind that Stefanie can achieve these and more.
I am very excited to continue working with Stefanie and pushing her to her goals and beyond. It is really satisfying to see someone’s body, self-confidence, and self-esteem change in front of you on a weekly basis.
