I save all my personal training client programmes and all my class plans. Sometimes it’s good to look back over previous programmes and workouts. Not only does it help you realise the progression in your client’s training, it can also remind you of some great exercises that you now overlook and quite frankly, sometimes it’s good just to mix it all up! I came across this little kettlebell circuit on my computer from back in 2013 – now if that’s not old school nothing is!
In this kettlebell circuit there are 3 rounds of 6 exercises. Each exercise is 1 minute with NO REST between. You could just use one kettlebell but these days I would be tempted to have a couple of kettlebells of varying weights or even dumbbells. You also need a step, but if you don’t have one you could replace the cardio aspects which use the step with any other cardio exercise you fancy!
Round 1
- Kettlebell Step Ups
- Kettlebell Tricep Extension
- Box Jumps on the step (without the KB!)
- Kettlebell Squat & Press
- Kettlebell Upright Row
- Russian Twist (twist with the KB)
Round 2
- Straddle Jumps (without the KB!)
- Kettlebell Clean and Press (one arm)
- Kettlebell Burpee
- Kettlebell Clean and Press (other arm)
- Squat Jumps (without the KB!)
- Vertical Leg Crunches (reach up with the KB)
Round 3
- Fast Mountain Climbers (without the KB)
- Kettlebell Renegade Row (one arm on the step, one arm with the KB)
- Kettlebell Squat & Kick (one leg)
- Plyo Lunges (without the KB!)
- Kettlebell Renegade Row (other arm)
- Kettlebell Squat & Kick (other leg)
This kettlebell circuit still nicely challenging even after all these years – the oldies are definitely the goodies!
