Just looking up what awareness days were coming up and I see it was “Never Give Up Day” on the 18th August. Wow! Has it been a year since I wrote about Never Give Up Day 2021?
We were just coming out of our third (and so far, final) national lockdown. Life as we knew it had changed. Our routines and habits had changed. But if you’re reading this, you got through it. One year on, what have you not given up on? Or what do you want to start and not give up on?
I read something inspiring the other day which said –
“If you start now, in 2 weeks, you’ll feel it, in 4 weeks, you’ll see it and in 8 weeks, it will be a part of you. Keep going. You’ve got this”. (Apologies, no reference, it was an instagram post). And it’s true, it doesn’t take much to start seeing changes, we just need to stick at it, never give up. Those changes and consistency add up.
Imagine it being August next year; would you rather start now, and be looking back going “wow! Look how far I’ve come” or would you rather keep putting it off, getting to next August and nothing has changed?
Imagine starting the couch to 5k now. Imagine joining one gym class this week. Imagine swapping your weekly takeaway for a healthy meal. Imagine what you want to do, do it, then do it again, and again, and again. You can decide your future.
