Our personal training client’s success stories are all different, as no one client is the same. Likewise it’s not unusual for personal training clients to change their goals! Meet Lucy. Lucy’s goals include wanting to get strong, to lose weight, to get better at running, to have a hard workout, to unwind, and more importantly – to follow the motto to make time for yourself….and that’s her success!
It’s easy to fall into the trap of believing that when you have busy jobs which aren’t your regular 9-5 it’s difficult to find time for, well anything! If you travel regularly or have non stop meetings ahead of you, food prep and exercise are certainly not at the top of your list! But by committing to something such a personal training, it becomes a diary entry, it forms part of your weekly routine, it doesn’t have a “get out clause”.
Lucy has never “not-been-bothered”. She’s never cancelled and I think to date she has only had to rearrange once (and hopefully won’t mind me saying she was nearly in tears when she did it). Sometimes we have to change days and it feels weird … once or twice we’ve only had one of our two sessions a week, but in that instance Lucy commits to coming to a class – and lets the instructor know so that she HAS to do it. And trust me – Lucy’s sessions are HARD. We have one full on HIIT session at the start of the week at the crack of dawn. Then we end the week with a hefty weights session.
Regardless of whatever is going on – whether it’s at work, or moving house, or not having her own car, or being shattered from travelling…. Lucy makes time for herself. And her progress shows. She’s lost an AMAZING 3kg of body fat already, well over half a stone in weight, 35cm from her body and has seen a 10% increase in her strength. She even joined the motive8 gang on the Race For Life!
Lucy is the epitome of “This Girl Can”. She’s a constant reminder of how exercise is a release, a time to focus on something completely different, a chance to clear your mind, and a bit of good hard fun!
