I never used to listen to music when I trained until I started using a turbo trainer (static bike training system) last year – these sessions are so tough that I need some good tunes blasting in my ears to distract me from the pouring sweat and burning in my thighs!
As the Winter weather draws in and it becomes too icy to run or cycle outside I find that I sometimes have to transfer my sessions indoors, which is boring! When I’m on the treadmill I add in intervals to mix it up, but there is still nothing worse than just watching the seconds tick by on the clock. So I put my earphones in, crank up the volume and try to use this to keep me motivated.
So on that note I thought I’d share my top workout tunes with you. I was going to only put 10, but found it hard to stop there so here are my ‘top 15’ workout tracks. You will see a theme, I’m a bit of a dance music fan, with a couple of rock tunes thrown in there too!
- A Higher Place – Peyton
- Strings of Life – Soul Central
- Shake It – Lee Cabrera
- Hard To Beat – Hifi
- Dakota – The Stereophonics
- Welcome To The Jungle – Guns N Roses
- Cola – Camel Phat (my tune of this year!)
- Witchcraft – Pendulum
- Blue Monday – New Order
- Learn To Fly – Foo Fighters
- Rhythm Is a Mystery – K Klass
- Make A Move On Me – Joey Negro
- Feel So Close – Calvin Harris
