how to avoid Easter cravings
It’s finally Spring, its getting warmer (well a little!) and the lighter nights make it the perfect combination for getting out and being healthy. However, Easter is just around the corner which means shops are full of chocolate eggs, hot cross buns and other Easter temptations. For many, these temptations can be a huge hurdle in their healthy eating routine so how can you avoid these treats and keep on track? Here our top tips of how to avoid Easter cravings!

Stay Away From The Temptation!
There are a number of ways to avoid the Easter cravings. Get outside and be active, go for a walk, run or even hit a session at the gym, exercise will suppress the cravings and make you feel great.

Another easy way to avoid the temptations is to not allow the tempting foods into the house so you be tempted!

Don’t Shop On An Empty Stomach.

I always say to my personal training clients to stay away from the shops they are tired or hungry as this can lead to making poor decisions.

Do Your Diary

Keep a food diary. This is the one way you can keep track of what you have eaten. By looking over the diary you can see how what your eating can effect your training goals and whether you are eating the right foods to optimise your results.
If You Slip….Don’t Fall….

If you do cave and end up eating a bar of chocolate or a hot cross bun then make sure you are accountable. However, thinking that you’ve now ruined your diet so you may as well devour the all of the kids’ Easter eggs or the other 3 of the 4 pack of hot cross buns is a sign of self-sabotage, and will make you feel even worse! So instead, get focused and get back onto your healthy eating, STRAIGHT AWAY!

For many people they say that just one Easter egg won’t hurt but take a look at how many calories are in these popular Easter treats and how much exercise you would have to do….surely that’s enough to put you off!
