Healthy Places To Eat In Leeds

Whilst, as a team of personal trainers, we like to eat healthy….that doesn’t mean that we live a monk-like existence and never go out. One of our favourite haunts of healthy places to eat in Leeds at the moment is the Grub and Grog Shop (none of the Grog of course!) at the Northern Monk Brewery in Leeds.

Yes, we might be biased as they are our neighbours but we swear they have not paid us to write this blog!

I (Jenny) love it there, I like the fact that on the days I forget my lunch I have somewhere on my doorstep where I can buy a healthy salad which, honestly, keeps me feeling full unlike some of the shop bought salads which fill me up for about 10 seconds! The soups are pretty amazing too!

I love the fact that their dishes are locally sourced (they even go foraging for some ingredients!) and that I can ‘eat clean’ there with no processed foods. Yes, they do sandwiches but this isn’t all they do, so I have plenty of options to be able to eat clean and healthy! I also love the fact that many of their dishes are vegan or vegetarian….and I’m not talking Canelloni and Lasagne here……I’m talking delicious stews, healthy salads, chargrilled cauliflower and an amazing Vegan Sunday lunch!

They do really good porridge for breakfast, or if you want something with protein the Vegetarian Hash is great and comes with poached egg. I love, love their salads (Grub and Grog if you’re reading this….yes, I’m the one who always asks for extra veg!!) and you can’t beat their freshly brewed loose leave tea!!

I’m often found doing my admin work there, along with the rest of the motive8 team, the staff are super friendly….always ready to serve you with a smile and some banter!

If you’ve not been I highly recommend that you give it a whirl……BUT, if you’re one of our clients stay away from the beer!!!
