Its very rare these days I have a spare 10 minutes time, like most individuals of the modern era I am constantly on the move. And like most individuals I forget things, nothing is more devastating than forgetting my lunch… anyone that knows me will understand how terrifying this thought is! So we all have those moments that we have to grab food last minute, in a rush, and let’s be honest, most food that is quick and convenient is generally rubbish!
However its all about knowing about little hidden secrets to get you the food you need when you need it. So if you’re in south of Leeds City Centre I would highly recommend the Northern Monk Refectory. The food is fantastic, especially if you’re looking for well balanced healthy meals. Although they don’t make a big song and dance about it, the vast majority of their food is organic, seasonal and sourced locally. Massive ticks in my box!
Yesterday i had an amazing root veg, houmous salad with some potatoes. A great balance of fats, carbs and proteins. The food was all fresh and not covered in processed condiments. The herb dressing is made in house including oils, cider vinegar, sunflower seeds, carrot. The hummus on top is an in house made carrot and buckwheat blend.
You can eat quick on the move and keep up your healthy routine, it’s just knowing the little gems like the Northern Monk Refectory. If you get chance to visit, I would highly recommend this place!
