Last weekend Leeds really felt the buzz of hosting the 2016 ITU World Triathlon. For many people it was their first time spectating at a triathlon and the feedback from spectators was fantastic. This week in the gym and on social media there has been much talk around the idea of triathlon with many people saying they would like to give one a go or go watch another.
So if you’re looking to give a triathlon a go or take the opportunity to go and watch why not take a look at the the Castle Triathlon Series. On the 23rd and 24th July, Castle Howard plays host to a triathlon event for its seventh year. The Castle Howard Triathlon will be the fourth weekend event of the 2016 Castle Tri Series. Castle Howard with its a 13,000 acre grounds form arguably the most physically demanding triathlon course of the Castle Triathlon Series. Competitors will start their race by swimming in Castle Howard’s Great Lake before transitioning into the technical bike route through the glorious rural scenic routes of Yorkshire and the Howardian Hills. The final leg of the event sees competitor run through the undulating countryside of the estate before a sprint finish ending the race outside the castle doors!
