I’ve got something a little different for you this week. I know we often talk about recipes for weight loss here at motive8, but today’s blog is all about gaining weight; specifically building muscle. I’m going to give you one of my all-time favourite muscle-building meals. It’s packed full of protein, super quick to make, plus it’s vegetarian friendly.
Now, a quick disclaimer. This is definitely not a meal I’d recommend to anyone on a strict diet, so if you’re trying to lose weight, why not check out some of our other awesome low-calorie recipes.
Ingredients
- 3 Slices of Bread
- 3 Large Eggs
- 1/2 Can of Baked Beans
- A Handful of Spinach
- 30g Cheese
- Salt and Pepper to taste
If I told you that the initial name for this blog was “beastly beans on toast” – it gives you some idea of what happens next. Or at least I’m hoping you can work this one out for yourself even if you’re pretty lost in the kitchen!
The bread goes in the toaster for 2 minutes, the beans get heated up on the hob for 3 minutes, and the eggs are fried for 2-3 minutes in a heated pan. Toast hits the plate first, then it’s eggs, beans, cheese and spinach, all seasoned to your taste. Since all the ingredients can be cooked at the same time, you can go from entering the kitchen to eating your meal in less than 5 minutes!
Nutritional Breakdown

So there you go, my super quick “beastly beans on toast”. A really easy way to get those much-needed calories as well as a generous supply of protein. Personally, I think it’s the perfect breakfast meal, though it’s also a great option for a quick dinner if you’ve been working late and still need to fit those calories in before bed.
Try it for yourself and let me know what you think!
