Personal training used to be a word associated with the rich and famous, however more and more people are turning to using a personal trainer. We look at the reasons why people choose personal training.
They’re New To Exercise
As beginners, most gyms (not ours I hope) can be a pretty intimidating with lots of strange and well-built equipment to make everyone into massive bulky humans it seems. A personal trainer can help people make sense of all the plates and metal to help build confidence, move safely and also get great some results in the process
2. They Struggle To Get Motive8’d
Sorry for the pun! Believe it or not, as personal trainers we even struggle with motivation to exercise sometimes, after all we’re human (well kind of anyway) and understand that people just need that hour or two a week pencilled in to exercise or else it slips down the priorities list (happens to us all at points). So having a session booked in with a personal trainer allows you to relax in the fact that your exercise, health and progress are prioritized and accounted for.
3. They Have A Specific Goal
A lot of people come in with a specific date, goal or number in mind. Whether that be to reach a certain measurement for a special day like a wedding, run a new personal best or even just complete a 10km run. The majority of our personal training clients just want to tone up and feel better in themselves. We aim to help make that journey as sustainable as possible and help prepare you in the best way we can
4. They Need The Company
As a personal trainer we are first and foremost there to direst your training and help you reach your goals, however things that aren’t covered in the job specification are being a friend, a support network and sometimes just somebody to bounce ideas off whether that be fitness related or not, we’re here to help with all aspects of your life.
5. They Need Some Fresh Ideas
Everyone can hit sticking points in their training and sometimes a fresh set of eyes can get you past a plateau and ease the frustration. As trainers, we’re constantly on the lookout for new movements, tools and training methods to develop our “PT Toolbox” as we all know there’s always more than one way to get to the same destination. This is when usually a few 1-on-1 sessions can help refine these new skills and methods to get your training back up and running
