Rather than have a ramble this week, I thought I’d share with you 10 simple tips to streamline your training and help you work towards your goals!

It’s surprising what a couple of tweaks and adjustments to your training can make. We have written about some of these things before so I’ve linked them in where appropriate, the rest I’ve provided a short rationale. 10 Simple Tips To Streamline Your Training

  1. No matter what your goal, conditioning and cardiovascular components should always be completed distal to other components Click here for more info.
  2. Don’t drink coffee following a training session…. before is okay.
  3. Master the basics, if you can’t complete full range squats, lunges, presses, and hinge movements your likely building imbalances and creating an environment for injury click here for more info.
  4. Squats for the majority are not great for hamstring development, use specific hamstring exercises.
  5. Eat fats regularly, there an important micronutrient. Eat the right ones, click here for more info.
  6. For strength development insufficient rest is one of the primary reasons for poor performance in the gym. 3-5 minutes between components is paramount.
  7. Training frequency is individual specific, however as a rule of thumb speed development requires stimulus every 5 days, hypertrophy of muscle tissue requires a stimulus every 4-6 days, strength development requires stimulus every 4-7 days.   8. You don’t need any fancy recovery strategies.Simply sleep well, eat well and remain hydrated. If you tick these big 3 off, the recovery will occur swiftly and naturally.
