Last weekend I wrapped up warm and went for a walk around Golden Acre Park which is only 6 miles from Leeds City Centre on the A660 Leeds Road in between Adel and Bramhope.

Golden Acre Park is 179 acres of woodland and gardens with a lake you can walk around. Whether you want to walk your dog, feed the ducks, enjoy the beautiful surroundings go for an off-road run or just get out and be active there is something for everyone.

With a number of routes around the park, the walk can be as short or as long as you want. With designated paths it is wheelchair and pushchair friendly and for those wanting to be a bit more adventurous you can go ‘off-road’ and explore the surrounding woodlands.

There is a nature reserve within Golden Acre which is well worth a visit especially if you’re interested in plants and animals. In the park itself the squirrels are very friendly and we even saw children feeding them by hand.

With varied routes it would be ideal for a good run so if you fancy a change in location for your run then I would definitely recommend it. Jenny lives near here, so often includes Golden Acre Park as part of her running route and says it’s great for running

Once you have finished your walk or run then you can take advantage of the local cafe for a nice warming cup of tea.

No matter what your plans are this weekend make sure you are active and keeping on top if your fitness goals.

Have a great weekend!
