TRX Suspension Training for Runners

The great thing about TRX Suspension Training (and the Human Trainer series of kit) is that it encourages a mixture of multiplanar body weight exercises which can improve strength, speed, balance and core stability. The TRX Suspension Training Kit itself can be used both indoors and outdoors as long as you simply find an anchor point to strap it on to! It’s versitile and effective, adjustable for any fitness level (although some exercises will be more taxing for less trained individuals) and therefore it’s a great means of cross training which should be added to anyone’s training – not just runners!
The great thing for runners with TRX is that as well as full body workouts, we can focus on single leg training, balance and core. So I’ve put together a predominantly lower leg strength and power workout below. It’s well known I lose count after 10 reps of something, so I generally time everything for 30seconds. If this isn’t hard enough for you, feel free to make the intervals longer!
No, before you ask, it’s not me in the pictures, but at least you get an idea of how to do the exercises!
