the motive8 North personal training team!

As you know, at motive8 North, we are extremely proud of what our personal training clients and class and gym members achieve.

This morning I performed my 500th session with one of my personal training clients, Ruby Briggs…..what an achievement that is! Not only an achievement that Ruby has put up with me for 500 hours telling her to do ‘x’ more reps or ‘dig deep’, but what a milestone of hours of exercise that is to achieve…..in fact, you can probably double that because on top of the personal training sessions I perform with tRuby she also does another 2 workouts herself! She wears a heart rate monitor when she works out and averages a calorie burn of 500 calories, so that a quarter of a million calories burned in her personal training session alone…..wow!!

I’ve trained Rubyfor almost 6 years and in that time she has achieved so many fantastic goals and I often use her as an example to my personal training clients who say they don’t have time to fit exercise into their busy work and lifestyles, this client proves it is. Let me give you some background….

When I first started trainingRuby her lifestyle was to get into work for around 7:30am (after a 45-60 minute commute into work), she would work right through lunch until about 6-7pm on an evening and then travel home. When she got home her evening meal would be waiting for her, alongside a couple of G & T’s to help her wind down (sound familiar?!). The only exercise Ruby did was gardening and the occasional game of golf. Ruby is a MD of a company so a pretty stressful job, with demanding hours…..how could she forsake 4 hours per week (well more once you count travel time to and from her personal training session or exercise classes and shower time) without it interrupting how much work she performed in a day.

I have vivid memories of chatting to Ruby about 6 weeks after she had started training and not only was she smashing her weight loss and inch loss goals but she couldn’t believe how much more productive she was at work, despite being there for less hours due to her training sessions. Additionally, gone were the G & T’s on an evening…exercise was now the way to destress! So, all of you who can’t fit in exercise due to work commitments use this client as inspiration…I promise you will become more productive at work.

Ruby has lost 4 stone and 72 inches (that is the length of a 6 foot person!) and more importantly has kept this off for the past 4 years which is a huge achievement in itself!  Ruby works like an absolute Trojan in her sessions and compliments this with a clean and healthy diet….sounds simple eh?! There is a picture of Ruby on our home page as proof!

To celebrate Ruby’s 500th personal training session we performed the following workout….why don’t you give it a whirl?!
