A Catalogue of Disasters!

A Day In The Life of a PT

I thought I’d brighten your week with my catalogue of disasters from the past few days of training which might make you smile!

I think I have mentioned before that I’m quite well known for being quite clumsy when I exercise and Tuesday was a classic. I had barely got out of the street at our Marshall Court Personal Training Studio when I tripped over a kerb , as I was swearing at myself for being a clumsy idiot, whilst flying through the air, my instant reaction wasn’t to see if I had injured myself but to stop my stop watch…..can’t have anything interfering with my mile splits ;o) A lovely man stopped to see if I was ok and looked quite bemused as I said ‘yes, don’t worry I’m always falling!’.Anyway, just a couple of grazes on my knees and elbow, nothing major so I carried on with my 7 mile run!

On Monday I went swimming, but I made the mistake of picking up the triathlon suit a kind client had let me borrow instead of my swimming costume! Luckily the receptionist at the leisure centre still let me use the pool but when I got into the changing room I realised that I had no idea how to put the trisuit on, it has an inbuilt sports bra just to make matters more complicated so it took me about 10 minutes to put it on! I also realised that by wearing this I had made myself look someone who regularly does triathlons…..someone you would expect to swim front crawl not breast-stoke like little old me, so I must have looked like ‘all the gear no idea’ when I started coasting up and down the pool doing breast-stroke!

I’m going to do a strength session when I finish at 830pm tonight, there will be no one in the studio at that time so I pray that I won’t get stuck under the barbell otherwise whoever opens up in the morning will still find me trapped there!

Hope you’re having a better workout week than me!
