An Epic Week at Motive8 North
A Day In The Life of a PT

I’m not sure if there is something in the air in Leeds this week but this week has been an epic week at motive8 North.
Often in my blog I talk about my training, my diet and what I’ve been up to in general but today I want to talk about our clients and members. Personally, my clients always work hard in their sessions but this week everyone seems to have taken things to the next level with people working really hard in their personal training sessions and there have been some amazing results achieved when I have done my clients measurements too. From observing the other training sessions, classes and also from chatting to the personal training team in Leeds I think I can confidently say that all our pt clients and class/gym members have been putting that extra effort in! Maybe it’s the sunshine (the little bit we have had) putting a spring in people’s step and giving them their extra edge in their training. Whatever it is I’m loving it……if you’re one of our clients or members then well done…keep it going!
One of the disappointing things to hear this week was an advert on the radio for McDonald’s promoting that on a Friday you get a free fruit mini-bag with any Happy Meal purchased. A bit of a contradiction don’t you think?! I posted about this on Facebook and another trainer made the joke that at least McDonald’s keep us in a job which whilst it might be true is also very sad isn’t it?! It’s sad that children have to be ‘tempted’ to eat fruit through the lure of eating an Happy Meal, surely they should just want to eat the fruit and not the Happy Meal. I know that many parents say their children don’t like fruit and veg but there was an interesting study by the University of Leeds that if you introduce new vegetables to children an earlier age they are more likely to eat them. So, if you have children, don’t give up….give them the best possible chance in life to influence their future health by encouraging them to eat fruit and vegetables.
So what has the next few days got in store for me training wise? Today (Friday) is a strength session and a swim session this evening, Saturday is a 15 mile run (those miles are gradually increasing now) and Sunday is an 8 mile run. I’m also planning to try out two new recipes this weekend, I’m going to spend tonight looking through some cook books so I’ll let you know how tasty they are!
Keep healthy and active and let’s have another epic week at motive8 north next week!
