I’ve recently been doing a lot of rehab exercises. But let’s be honest, it’s easy to skip rehab exercises when they don’t feel like they’re doing much. If there’s no pain or immediate relief, it’s tempting to think they’re pointless. But here’s the truth: rehab isn’t about instant results—it’s about long-term recovery and resilience.

Why You Need to Stick With It

Your rehab exercises are carefully designed to rebuild strength, mobility, and stability. Just because you don’t “feel” them working doesn’t mean they’re ineffective. Often, they target deep stabilising muscles that don’t give the same burn as a gym workout but are essential for keeping your body moving pain-free.

Skipping them? That’s like ignoring the foundations of a house—eventually, cracks will show.

Repetitive Movements = Injury Risks

A lot of people around me are currently saying that we’re getting injured because “we’re getting older”. The truth is, many injuries don’t just happen because we’re getting older (though recovery may take longer with age). They happen because of repetitive movements—sitting all day, lifting the same way, or even running without variation. Over time, these patterns create imbalances, leading to wear and tear.

Rehab helps break these patterns by strengthening weak muscles, improving movement efficiency, and reducing stress on overused areas.

Recovery Takes Time—But It’s Worth It

Think of rehab as a long-term investment in your body. The effort you put in now means fewer setbacks later. So even if you don’t feel like your exercises are doing much—trust the process. Your future, pain-free self will thank you.
