It’s been a fantastic month in the motive8 North gyms with everyone working hard and focusing on their training. Here are this month’s motive8 North winners who have stood out working hard to achieve their fitness goals.
Motive8 Personal Training Client of the Month – Karen Boyle (Do It In 12)
Well Done Karen a motive8 voucher is on its way to you!
“Karen did not come to me with any major body related changes when she started our Do It In 12 programme, she just wanted to feel healthier and be more active, with an aim to do more running. However, I know she left with amazement at what she had achieved physically.
Karen was a pleasure to train, always bring great enthusiasm and humour to her sessions. She would push herself through sessions and exercises that weren’t always favourites of hers. Her dedication and motivation showed in her results losing nearly 11lbs, over 20inches, and nearly 5.5% body fat. Amazing progress on the Do It In 12 programme.
Before:
10st 10lbs
22.92%
Waist: 32in
Hips: 38.5in
Stomach: 32in
After:
9st 12.4lbs
17.49%
Waist: 29.75in
Hips: 35in
Stomach: 28.5in
Here is what Karen thought about her personal training experience ….
What made you decide to get a personal trainer?
I was incredibly fortunate to win Do it in 12 via a twitter competition.
How long did you train with Ieuan?
12 weeks
What was your goal when you started training?
To start running … I come from a family of runners but I’ve never quite got into it, so I wanted to use this as an opportunity to build my stamina and my confidence.
What is your current fitness goal?
Now I’ve finished my training it’s to keep up my CV work …. I’ve even bought a bike!
What is your proudest accomplishment in your training?
The unexpected changed to my body – inch and fat loss that I wasn’t expecting
What did you find hard during your personal training experience?
Every training session was hard, but I saw that as a positive thing – the sense of accomplishment every time I left the gym was amazing
What advice would you give to someone thinking about starting personal training?
Just do it!!! I was never sure why people had PT’s, but from your second session the value and benefits are obvious
What is Ieuan like as a Personal Trainer?
He was amazing – challenging, honest, fun – I cannot rate or recommend him highly enough
If you had to give your PT an exercise or workout to do what would it be?
Yoga ….
Motive8 North Class Member of the Month
James Waters
Well Done James a class voucher is on its way to you!
James has been attending classes for the last few months at Marshall Court and he is a great addition to every class. He works hard and gets fully involved in the team spirit and banter. Well done James!
We asked James a few questions about classes at motive8 North and this is what he had to say ….
How long have you been attending classes at Marshall Court?
For a couple of months now – the idea was to lose a few pounds before a holiday but it’s become quite addictive!
Which classes do you attend?
Circuits – the aim is to try and go 3 times a week if time and energy allows it!
What is your favourite class and why?
Monday circuits – it’s a great detox after the weekend and gets me fired up for the week ahead
What is your favourite exercise?
Press ups
What is your least favourite exercise?
Squats – I don’t like anything I’m not good at!!
Why do motive8 classes differ from any other classes you have attended?
It’s a great friendly atmosphere and there’s never a circuits class that’s the same, so it never gets boring.
Motive8 North Gym Member of the Month
Simon Price
Well Done Simon a motive8 voucher is on its way to you!
Simon has been attending the Marshall Court studio for just over 5 months and has been working hard to rehabilitate an ankle injury. It’s been great to see Simon’s fitness increase and become fitter and stronger. Simon is not afraid to push himself hard and has recently reintroduced himself to classes by attending our evening circuit classes. Well done Simon keep up the great work!
How long have you been a member of the motive8 North gym?
I joined in March
Why do you train at the motive8 gym?
I’ve been based at Marshalls Mill for the last few years, but a member of a gym near my home. Recently my girlfriend moved to a (different) company based here as well, it made sense for us to move to a gym over the road so we could visit after work.
What was your goal when you started at the gym?
I’ve been mostly just running over the last few years, recent key hole surgery made me realise that pounding the streets wasn’t good for my rubbish knees, so the aim was to focus on new ways of improving my fitness. This was all made a little more difficult when I badly sprained my ankle on a night out, so the kettlebell and the press-up have been my close friends over the last 6-months.
What is your current goal?.
Getting fitter and stronger, however I would like to find my abs under the middle age spread.
What’s your biggest accomplishment since you have been training?
Starting circuits again after 3years away. My last gym didn’t really do them, so it’s been a while and I’d forgotten how good they were. I did have to wait until my ankle worked again, however they are now the training highlight of the week.
Well done Simon!
