Whilst, at motive8 North, we love to exercise and eat healthy, we also like to enjoy a nice, healthy meal out. And as we don’t want our personal training clients or class members to live completely like monks it’s nice to recommend healthy places for them to eat. Here is a restaurant recommended by personal trainer, Ieuan Cranswick, as one of the healthy places to eat near Leeds.
If you find yourself in Otley or passing through on your way for a trip to the Dales or wherever you may be going I highly recommend The Cheerful Chilli.
The Cheerful Chilli is a very quaint, intimate restaurant with a friendly atmosphere situated on top of the Chevin, perfect for pre or post-meal walks. It is a vegetarian establishment priding itself on using the very best local produce, homegrown vegetables, and fairtrade products. They have a great mix of flavours from around the world, with great choices of healthy meals.
Each meal comes with fresh vegetables and ingredients providing a wholesome, and healthy feed. If you are like me and love the refreshing taste of a variety of vegetables then I recommend the Aubergine Involtini, made up of aubergine and courgette rolls stuffed with feta cheese, spinach, mint and pine nuts. All served with a freshly made relish and salad.
The rest of the menu offers a much healthier option than your standard fat and carb packed meals of other restaurants. The menu has a whole host of options ranging through Mexican, and Curry inspired options all made with healthier choices of vegetables, and lower GI carbohydrates such as sweet potato or quinoa. Like every restaurant there is the option of sides such as fries etc. but there are many other healthier options like stuffed chillies, olives, and freshly made salad options.
If you are a vegetarian, or just someone looking a for a lovely change and extremely fresh produce then The Cheerful Chilli comes highly recommended as one of the healthy places to eat near Leeds. Great service, location, and food, check it out!
