Many of you reading this blog might already be personal training clients at one of our Leeds based personal training studios, many of you may have just discovered us on the internet and be interested in getting a personal trainer but be questioning how can I afford a personal trainer?
I’ve been a personal trainer in Leeds for over 15 years now and the number of personal trainers has massively increased since then, showing that personal training is no longer exclusively for the rich and famous. Last week I wrote a blog about how to choose the right personal trainer, this week I thought I’d look at the cost of personal training.
I’ll be honest, I know we are not the cheapest personal trainers in Leeds, nor are we the most expensive, BUT I do believe you get what you pay for and, personally, I’m pretty proud about the service we offer our clients and, due to this, the results they achieve. For us, it’s not just about turning up, delivering a session and then buzzing off. It’s about the other services and support we offer our clients on top of their personal training sessions:
* Nutritional Plans – We have developed our own motive8 Nutritional Plan which all personal training clients are provided with, in addition to their own bespoke training plan.
* Food Diaries – Our personal training clients are provided with regular feedback about their food diaries.
* Bespoke Training Plans – All clients are given their own training plans which, like their food plans, are updated on a regular basis.
* Constant Support & Motivation – All of our personal training clients know we are at the end of the phone or email if they need any advice or motivation.
Whilst I may have gone off at a slight tangent and deviated away from the subject of this blog about how you can afford a personal trainer, it does bring me to my first point…
1. Make sure you get what you pay for! For those personal trainers who only charge £25 per hour what are you getting for this? If it’s literally just a personal training session are you the type of person who needs more support than this and if so do you therefore need to invest a little more money? For me a great personal trainer will provide great value for money.
2. How much is your health worth? Can you put a price on your health? £40-£45 per hour may sound like a lot for personal training, BUT would you rather spend this on a night out each week, which let’s face it it if you’re drinking 8 pints and having a kebab after isn’t that great for your health, or would you rather invest it on something which will improve your health and quality of life.
3. Make other sacrifices – If you spend £7 on lunch every day, start making your lunch at home instead, this will probably save you around £5 each day. Cut out that extra £3 coffee every day too and over the course of a working week this is a saving of around £40…..there is your personal training session and a step closer to a healthier and fitter you!
4. Buddy or Group Personal Training – If you can’t afford a personal trainer by yourself, then why not consider buddy or group personal training. Our group personal training sessions start from as little as £12.50 per person, and you still get your own personal programme, nutritional plan. What are you waiting for get signed up today!
5. Personal Training doesn’t have to be weekly – If you can’t afford a weekly session, but would still like a personal trainer, then don’t stress! If you have a great personal trainer who will give you a programme to follow yourself and you’re highly motivated to work hard by yourself then you can still get great results from seeing a personal trainer every 2-4 weeks.
