The evening of Thursday 7th August saw the 3rd motive8 Games, for those of you who have never heard of the motive8 Games, this is an annual competition organised by the motive8 personal trainers in Leeds. We launched the motive8 Games in 2012 to coincide with the Olympic Games and everyone had so much fun we thought we would make it an annual event.

The aim of the motive8 Games is to bring all motive8 personal training clients, class and gym members together to have fun whilst exercising, with some friendly competition thrown in of course! This year the events were  the Egg & Spoon, Sack Race, Obstacle Course, Individual Sprint, Welly Throwing, 500m Row, Sprint Relays , Tug of War and Tyre Flipping.

We had our biggest turn out this year with 14 teams taking part which created an amazing atmosphere. Teams were made up of people from local businesses, our personal training clients, class and gym members and friends of motive8 members. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it and nights like this are what make my job worthwhile…..looking around and seeing the enjoyment on people’s faces as they are exercising….absolutely priceless.

The winning team with 89 points were Power Packed Legion from PPL who have a corporate gym membership at our Marshall Court studio, 2nd place was actually tied on 84 points between 2 Ladies and 2 Small Blokes and Team Leg so we decided they had to battle it out with one final sprint competition to decide who landed 2nd place….this was Team Leg. So 3rd place went to 2 Ladies and 2 Small Blokes.

The other teams ranked as follows:

4th Position – 82 points – Gro With The Fro

5th Position – 78 Points – Team Walking Wounded

6th Position – 76 Points – We Didn’t Want To Win Anyway

7th Position – 74 Points – Team Arm

8th Position – 71 Points – Roxy’s Rebels

9th Position – 67 Points – Four Star

10th Position – 66 Points – Moose Hereos

11th Position – 63 Points – Fox Force Four

12th Position – 58 Points – Team Nash

Joint 13th – 53 Points – Team Pukka & Rank Outsiders

If you came along to the motive8 Games we hope you had an amazing time, we certainly did. And if you didn’t come along…..then we will see you next year!
