Food Glorious Food!
A Day In The Life of a PT

Today has been a great day both motive8 fitness studios in Leeds!
As normal I was in work for 6am, I didn’t have my first client until 7:30am but our gym membership at the motive8 personal training studio in Leeds starts at 6am on a morning. This morning was really busy for gym members, it’s quite interesting but you often find it’s more women who use the gym early on a morning, with more men using it on a lunch time…..strange!
Chris had me in stitches this morning, he was discussing something to do with nutrition with one of his clients and got a right bee in his bonnet about a certain diet brand. Amongst other things he was raving on about how he couldn’t believe that they had produced ‘low fat’ jam when jam doesn’t even contain fat! I’ve never seen him so animated about something.
I had 6 personal training sessions today, 2 in the morning and then 4 in the afternoon/evening. 2 of my sessions today were home training sessions which sometimes take a little bit more creativity as you have less kit and space than in the studio to use but I like the challenge and I hope my clients still agree that they get a great workout!
One of the biggest highlights of my day was getting a delivery of fresh fruit and vegetables and meat (for Joel, I’m a vegi!) from Leeds Market. I hadn’t had time to get to the green grocers on Saturday so I looked on line and found that you can get your fresh food delivered from Leeds Market…..happy days! For a very reasonable price I got a boat load of fruit and vegetables delivered and pretty much enough meat to keep Joel all ‘proteined-up’ for a good couple of weeks! (Or as Chris put it…..it was the equivalent of half a dead cow!) I was so excited when it got delivered, some people may call it sad, but I love food and I love cooking so I was truly excited about what I could conjure up in the kitchen with it! Food Glorious Food! For me food should be enjoyable and is a big part of my life. Just because you are healthy doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy food and I’m often recommending restaurants and swapping recipes with my personal training clients. As you can probably guess from what I write I work long hours, but I still cook something from ‘scratch’ every night when I get home. For me, cooking is a way of winding down after a long day.
The only downside about getting food delivered is that I couldn’t pick the food myself but from what has been delivered it looks great! I’ll keep you posted on how tasty it is and let you know what I conjure up in the kitchen!
After the excitement of the delivery, my day took a bit of a downturn as my lap top decided to keep crashing….nothing more frustrating! By 2pm I was back with clients anyway, doing what I love the most putting them through their paces. The last session was finished at 8pm and then it was a clean of the studio, ready for home at 8:45 to cook up a feast with the food I had delivered earlier!
