personal training calories on christmas day

This in excess of 7,000 calories consumed on Christmas Day. Look at the scary amounts of calories in Christmas Dinner (1,450), Christmas Pudding (1,174) and all the chocolates and biscuits you will eat (1,940). What is worrying is that breakfast only makes up 135 calories!!! And we are not quite sure that the alcohol on this example is even correct – personally I think it’s underestimated!

Last December the Daily Mail published a great article Click here for the full article, the shocking points were as follows:

  • The average household will consume 7000 calories on Christmas day (almost 3 times the daily amount for a male)
  • Of these calories almost one third will be consumed before Christmas dinner! Most of these will come in the form of alcohol, chocolate and festive snacks.

In 2013 the Huffington Post published the following article, Click here for the full article, with the following points.

  • 31% of the people they polled consumed over 8000 calories on Christmas day alone!
  • The average person took 4 months to drop the christmas period weight….eeeek!

The Telegraph published an even more terrifying article. Click here for the full article:

  • The average person will gain 6lbs between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day.

Now obviously, we don’t expect you to be Saints on Christmas day, but in no way is it necessary to consume that amount of calories! Consuming 8000 calories will require a tremendous amount of effort to remove from your body. Have a read of Jen’s recent calories v exercise blog, to find out the price in hours of your indulgence.
